Presentation by Noted Ojai Photographer Myrna Cambianica
Myrna Cambianica, noted Ojai photographer will be making a special presentation on Februrary 12th at 6:30 PM at the Ventura County Camera Club. The title of the talk is “Fragility, Transformation, Impermanence.“ which will focus on her creative journey from traditional to conceptual photography and photomontage. “My images often encompass the cycle of life from birth to death to re-birth, and evoke thoughts of fragility, transformation, and impermanence,” says Cambianica. She uses a low-tech approach - as simple as waxed paper and feathers on a tabletop. With these uncomplicated techniques, she has created award-winning images of butterflies, delicate bird’s nests, feathers and fallen leaves.
Over the past twenty years she has exhibited her work in multiple venues, including the Ojai Art Center, Ojai Valley Museum, Atrium Gallery at Ventura County Government Center, San Diego Art of Digital Exhibit, Camarillo Art Center, Buena Ventura Arts and Santa Paula Society of the Arts. The most recent of her numerous awards include two First Place wins in 2018: for “Renewal” in the 81st Annual Santa Paula Society of the Arts – Art & Photography Exhibit and for “The Nest” in the Ojai City Hall exhibit, “Seekers and Dreamers.”
The presentation will be at the Poinsettia Pavilion, 3451 Foothill Rd. Anyone with an interest in photography is welcome and admission is free. See the club’s web site for more information about the club or call 908-5663. WWW.VenturaCountyCameraClub.com
