Carp Valley Museum of History to Host Free Family Day on Nov. 15

November 15 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Carpinteria Valley Museum of History will host a free Family Day on Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 956 Maple Ave. in downtown Carpinteria.

Open to all families and individuals, Family Day will be filled with hands-on learning and fun! Fifteen interactive stations will include: a new scavenger hunt, vintage typewriters, Morse Code, old-time toys and games, flying toy planes and making paper helicopters, roping saddles, putting together puzzles and timelines, using stereoviewers, writing on school slates, as well as making family trees and cultural crafts. All stations, prizes, and takeaways are free for attendees.

The Museum is partnering with the Carpinteria State Beach and the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society on Family Day 2025.

Jayme Yahr, the Museum’s Executive Director, is excited to welcome returning and new visitors to the museum. She explains “Family Day had over 200 participants last year and is going to be a fun community event again this year. The Museum will have activities for children and adults, some returning and some new stations, and lots of opportunities to hand-test history. I appreciate our partner organizations and volunteers for helping to make this new event a reality.”
