SUMMARY:SEEAG’s Christmas On The Ranch Tree Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Sustainably harvested white and red “silver tipped” fir trees from Northern California will be available for pickup on Saturday\, November 30 in Ventura County and Sunday\, December 1 in Santa Barbara County during “Christmas On The Ranch.” Pick-up locations are at Petty Ranch (11971 Darling Rd.\, Ventura) and Farm Supply Company (700 McMurray Rd.\, Buellton). Proceeds from the Christmas tree fundraiser will help support Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG) agriculture education and healthy eating programs for kids in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Pickup time is from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Petty Ranch and 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Farm Supply Company.  The trees are harvested in the northern Sierra Nevada mountain range to reduce overgrowth and fire risk and then donated to SEEAG. Trees are 6’ to 10’ tall.  The cost is $200 per tree. For each tree sold\, a matching $250 will be donated by SEEAG board members. SEEAG is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization so all tree purchases are tax-deductible. Trees can be pre-ordered by going to https://www.seeag.org/christmas-at-the-ranch. DESCRIPTION:All money raised will go to support those displaced from the recent Los Angeles fires. Class is donation based (suggested donation is $10-25). \nJoin us for an all levels yoga class linking mindful movement with breathing followed by a transformative breathwork experience! There is no more beautiful place in Santa Barbara to create a sense of peace than on the wharf where we can hear the lapping of the waves\, birds and relish in the mountain and ocean view together (without sand on our mats). Postures are accessible to everyone and options for modification or amplification are offered. If you don’t feel like doing anything\, you’ll still benefit from being together in community. Arrive at 8:30am to relax and connect. Class begins at 9:00. Please park off the wharf and walk to the location right next to the Seacenter on the Shoreward finger of the wharf (not all the way at the end). Don’t forget to bring your yoga mat and water bottle for a truly zen experience. Namaste!

DESCRIPTION:The Neal Taylor Nature Center Fish Derby is an annual event that has been taking place at Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara\, CA since the mid 90s. Every year\, hundreds of people venture out for weekend of fun\, fishing\, and festivities. \nThe event hosts a variety of activities. People of all ages are welcome to participate. Ages 5 and up can participate in the fish weighing contest\, and earn cash and fishing gear prizes.  There are also several raffles\, with prizes that include fishing gear\, gift baskets\, local restaurant gift certificates\, lake cruises\, and more. \nOther activities include arts & crafts\, workshops\, bait-making stations\, live music at HOOK’d bar & grill\, boat rentals\, an on-site disc golf course\, and several biking and hiking trails surrounding Cachuma Lake. \nCamping is available at Cachuma Lake Recreation Area during the event\, and is booked separately through the Santa Barbara County website. Reservations fill up quick\, so make sure you plan far in advance! \nThis is a family-friendly event\, and all are welcome! DESCRIPTION:Canine Adoption and Rescue League (C.A.R.L.) says “howdy” to dog lovers from across Ventura County and beyond and invites them to the 2025 C.A.R.L. Pooch Parade. This year’s theme is “Rescue Roundup\,” so attendees and their four-legged friends can wear western-themed costumes\, including bandanas and cowboy hats. The 2025 Pooch Parade takes place at Ventura Harbor Village\, 1583 Spinnaker Drive in Ventura (grassy area) on Sunday\, August 24\, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. \nThe event’s lead sponsor is Cumulus Media (owner of Groovy 106.3\, KBBY 95.1\, KHAY 100.7 and KRUZ 103.3)\, which will host a booth at the event. Once again\, Ken Vela will serve as emcee\, announcing the Parade that includes a lineup of dogs and their owners and other activities. Proceeds from the event support C.A.R.L.’s mission to advocate for animal welfare and work towards ending the needless deaths of companion animals through its adoption\, education and outreach programs. \nAdditional sponsors include Ohana Pet Hospital\, Ojai Valley Directory\, Savory Prime Pet Treats\, VMSG\, PetZ Gazette.com\, Local 721 SEIU\, Teresa D. Gruber\, CPA\, T&T Truck and Crane Service\, Greg Rents Equipment Rental\, Allstate – Candice Alexander\, Hoste Events and C.A.R.L.’s Pet Care Center.  \nVendor booths will also be on site\, offering canine-related products and services\, and C.A.R.L. will bring adoptable dogs to the event. SUMMARY:Santa Ynez Valley Historical Museum’s 41st Annual Vaquero Benefit Dinner & Auction Honoring Vaquero of the Year Ramon Becerra
DESCRIPTION:The Santa Ynez Valley Historical Museum’s 41st Annual Vaquero Benefit Dinner & Auction is Saturday\, November 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Ramon Becerra\, renowned equestrian entertainer\, will be honored as Vaquero of the Year in recognition of his decades-long career as a celebrated horse trainer\, performer in film\, television\, advertising\, and his live shows.  The event at the museum (3596 Sagunto St.\, Santa Ynez) spotlights the California Vaquero and their influence on modern ranching in California. \nThe evening includes dinner\, live music and silent and live auctions.  Proceeds benefit the Santa Ynez Historical Museum and the Parks-Janeway Carriage House\, as well as its public programs presented throughout the year. SUMMARY:Shadow’s Fund Hosts Annual Benefit\, “There’s No Place Like Home!”
DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Sunday\, November 16th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. to celebrate all the ways Shadow’s Fund helps the most vulnerable animals find their way home. You will enjoy good food and wine\, a fabulous silent auction and the company of other local animal lovers. \nShadow’s Fund is dedicated to bringing hope and second chances to the most vulnerable animals. Shadow’s Fund operates a 100-acre sanctuary and safe haven in Lompoc for shelter dogs at risk of euthanasia\, horses who cannot be ridden and farm animals who have been abandoned or neglected. Shadow’s Fund is deeply involved with local animal welfare agencies to provide behavioral support for dogs struggling in shelters\, and they help families in our community to care for their dogs and address behavioral issues so that the dogs remain in the home and are not surrendered to the shelter. \nShadow’s Fund is a 501(c)(3)\, all proceeds from the event will go towards supporting their programs to help local pets and their families.
