DESCRIPTION:Pico Los Alamo’s new Chef Cameron Ingle who learned his craft from many of the best chefs in the United States\, including Thomas Keller. He was part of Chef David Barber’s culinary team when Blue Hill at Stone Barns in New York was awarded 2 Michelin stars. His cuisine will be paired with Lumen and other wines\, including selections from Pico Los Alamos’ library wines.  \nThis gala dinner is for anyone who is interested in learning more about winemaking\, food and wine pairing and what makes Santa Barbara County a very special terroir for growing wine grapes and produce. IWSB is a not-for-profit Meetup wine tasting group that has grown to over 1\,700 members and organized almost 90 wine events featuring noted winemakers from Santa Barbara County\, Napa and Santa Cruz. It is open to anyone 21+.  \nChef Cameron of Pico Los Alamos resume includes Thomas Keller’s  Bouchon Bistro\, Bestia and Bavel in Los Angeles\, and Blue Hill at Stone Barns in New York. Pico Los Alamos is owned by Will Henry and wife Kali Kopley. Will Henry is also the owner and co-winemaker at LUMEN with winemaking legend Lane Tanner. Will worked for his father’s distribution company\, The Henry Wine Group\, before joining Lane Tanner in 2012 at LUMEN. \nInside Wine SB has members in Los Angeles and Ventura as well as the local area and the dinner is early\, at 3 pm\, to accommodate travel to Los Alamos.  The Meetup group has organized wine tastings with iconic winemakers like Randall Graham\, Brian Babcock\, Fred Brander\, Richard Sanford and more as well as organizing wine seminars with Master Sommeliers Richard Betts\, Brian McClintic\, and Eric Railsback. DESCRIPTION:The Central Coast Entertainment Expo (CCEE’s) mission is to celebrate cinema and promote media arts and entertainment on California’s Central Coast. We will do that through fun\, engaging\, and entertaining films that spark inspiration or set our imaginations free. 2022 will be our inaugural year which will light the spark for many subsequent events to come. \nENTERTAINMENT EXPO PROGRAM\nSurrounded by some of the greatest vineyards\, beaches and cities in the world\, the village of Arroyo Grande makes this an ideal location on the Central Coast to gather and share the love of entertainment creation. The CCEE will screen classic crowd favorites\, and feature local films\, while also providing attendees with an insight into the industry through speaker panels\, workshops\, hands-on educational experiences\, and networking. The CCEE is designed by and for working professionals and film fans to enjoy and have fun together. \nSTUDENT PROGRAM\nBeginning the creative process at an early age is important and encouraging young film students to pursue their dreams is critical. The CCFS believes strongly in fostering and celebrating student filmmakers and will provide a special program for local student filmmakers at CCEE through the Central Coast Showcase and volunteer opportunities to support industry advisors with workshops and hands-on demonstrations. CCFS works closely with regional high-school and regional film programs teachers and professors to provide our students with unique and educational experiences. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, November 5\, more than 15 Ventura County farms\, ranches and agricultural organizations will invite the public to experience a day of free agricultural activities and tours during the 10th Annual Ventura County Farm Day. This year’s theme is “Meet All The Hands That Feed You.” \nVisitors can map out their day by viewing the Farm Day Trail Map at https://venturacountyfarmday.com/farm-tours. Each site offers tours and produce and other giveaways. Farm Day enables the public to meet the local farmers who grow the food we eat. Tour hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some require reservations. \n  \nParticipating in Farm Day include Reiter Affiliated Companies (berries)\, Driscoll’s (strawberries)\, Duda Farm Fresh Foods (row crops)\, Earthtrine Fam (organic vegetables)\, Alpacas At Windy Hills (Alpaca fleece)\, Blue Ridge Honey (raw honey)\, Good Farms Making a Difference (strawberries)\, Oxnard Historic Farm Park (antique farm equipment\, vegetable crops and talks about the agricultural heritage of the Oxnard Plains)\, Agromin (organic compost and mulch) and Petty Ranch (also the Farm Day hub with additional activities and displays). \nVentura County Farm Day is organized by the nonprofit Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG). SUMMARY:What Might Have Been: The Promise of Thomas Cole’s Late Career
DESCRIPTION:Art Matters Lecture with Frank Kelly\, Ph.D.\nSenior Curator and Christiane Ellis Valone Curator of American Paintings\, National Gallery of Art \nAmerican landscape painter Thomas Cole was at the height of his artistic powers when he died at the age of 47 in 1848. We will never know for certain what Cole might have done\, but there are clues in the works he left behind\, both finished and unfinished\, in his studio when he died. Large canvases—including the one in the Santa Barbara Museum of Art known as The Meeting of the Waters—suggest that he had many subjects in mind to paint\, so fertile was his imagination. This lecture outlines what Cole was doing artistically in his last years and the works he actually created then. It further considers what he might have accomplished had he lived to paint longer.
