SUMMARY:Spring Cleaning! Detox To Heal
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to renew your body\, mind\, and spirit through conscious detoxification and cleansing practices.\n\n\nLearn how to renew your body\, mind\, and spirit through conscious detoxification and cleansing practices during this workshop. Owners Ashe & Christin Brown of Pura Luna Apothecary will be joined by Julia and Luke Loggins in an evening that inspires release and reconnection through Spring Equinox Cleansing. \nAs the cycle of release & reconnection is a constant practice\, all the tools we offer can be used at any time to ground\, call in ancient wisdom and remember who we are…to remember to ask for help\, as the ancestors/Spirts come when called…to remember we are not alone… to remember we are all connected and in community. \nJulia will introduce the Why’s and How’s of Cleansing; 3 Ways to “Fast\,” including “Fasting Lite\,” which are liquid nourishment days consisting of juices/bone broth/veggie broth/protein drinks\, safe for all ages. Cleansing can be as gentle as we wish. It does NOT have to be extreme in any way. Our goal is self-love\, not self-punishment. We did not do “bad things” that need to be erased. We lived and survived as best we could\, accumulated stress\, toxicity\, and inflammation\, and we are releasing that —with love and gratitude. \nWe are releasing the memories\, the limitations\, and the beliefs that no longer suit us…and that we no longer need\, as we are SAFE and in the heart of a loving community.

SUMMARY:Nicholas Galanin Let Them Enter Dancing and Showing Their Faces Presented By UCSB Arts & Lectures
DESCRIPTION:Proclaimed a “standout” by The New York Times\, multidisciplinary artist Nicholas Galanin explores conceptions and misconceptions surrounding Indigenous identity. He is widely praised for what have been considered the “definitive works” (ARTnews.com) of the 2019 Whitney Biennial\, 2020 Australian Biennale and 2021 Desert X\, among other notable exhibitions. His sculptures and multimedia installations intersect in form\, image and sound\, offering perspectives rooted in connection to the land and broad engagement with contemporary culture. In this illustrated presentation\, Galanin\, who is of Tlingit and Unanga descent and a citizen of Alaska’s Sitka Tribe\, will show how he employs materials and processes that expand dialogue on Indigenous artistic production\, and how culture can be carried.
