You’ll get to taste chocolate at every stage\, from bean to bar (including sampling through all our single origin dark chocolate bars)\, as well as other products we make\, like caramel and chocolate-covered espresso beans. We’ll describe the stages of roasting\, sorting\, refining and tempering. You’ll come away having tasted a lot of chocolate and having learned more about our specialty!

DESCRIPTION:Every Thursday\, Friday and Saturday evening May through August \n  \n*Program times vary by week depending on the time of sunset* \n  \n See each week’s program time: https://www.clnaturecenter.org/going-batty/ \n  \nMeet at the front entrance of the Nature Center. \n  \nGoing Batty consists of a weekly talk and observation of local bats during May – August each year. We have two bat boxes where bats live at the nature center. These are wild bats—we never feed or touch the animals. \n  \nGuests of Cachuma Lake Recreation Area are welcome to visit our bat boxes at any time during their visit\, although they typically only come out about 30 minutes after sunset\, and are mostly active here during the warmer months. \n  \nThis is a living exhibit! Please do not disturb the bats with lights or loud noises. \n  \nKeep a 10-15ft distance from bat boxes at all times. \n  \nIncludes a Docent led talk and Q&A. \n  \nAfter learning about the local bats\, we’ll move to the Native Garden to watch as the bats drop out of the bat boxes to feed. \n  \nAdmission: Donation \n

We have two bat boxes where bats live at the nature center. These are wild bats—we never feed or touch the animals. \n  \nGuests of Cachuma Lake Recreation Area are welcome to visit our bat boxes at any time during their visit\, although they typically only come out about 30 minutes after sunset\, and are mostly active here during the warmer months. \n  \nThis is a living exhibit! Please do not disturb the bats with lights or loud noises. \n  \nKeep a 10-15ft distance from bat boxes at all times. \n  \nIncludes a Docent led talk and Q&A. \n  \nAfter learning about the local bats\, we’ll move to the Native Garden to watch as the bats drop out of the bat boxes to feed. \n  \nAdmission: Donation \n

Combining the best elements of our previous Behind the Scenes and In-Depth tours\, this new and improved event is for someone with a high interest in single-origin dark chocolate\, where it comes from\, how it’s processed and the technicalities behind making shiny\, lusciously smooth chocolate from what starts as a small\, bitter bean. You’ll get to taste chocolate at every stage\, from bean to bar (including sampling through all our single origin dark chocolate bars)\, as well as other products we make\, like caramel and chocolate-covered espresso beans. We’ll describe the stages of roasting\, sorting\, refining and tempering. You’ll come away having tasted a lot of chocolate and having learned more about our specialty!

DESCRIPTION:Every Thursday\, Friday and Saturday evening May through August \n  \n*Program times vary by week depending on the time of sunset* \n  \n See each week’s program time: https://www.clnaturecenter.org/going-batty/ \n  \nMeet at the front entrance of the Nature Center. \n  \nGoing Batty consists of a weekly talk and observation of local bats during May – August each year. We have two bat boxes where bats live at the nature center. These are wild bats—we never feed or touch the animals. \n  \nGuests of Cachuma Lake Recreation Area are welcome to visit our bat boxes at any time during their visit\, although they typically only come out about 30 minutes after sunset\, and are mostly active here during the warmer months. \n  \nThis is a living exhibit! Please do not disturb the bats with lights or loud noises. \n  \nKeep a 10-15ft distance from bat boxes at all times. \n  \nIncludes a Docent led talk and Q&A. \n  \nAfter learning about the local bats\, we’ll move to the Native Garden to watch as the bats drop out of the bat boxes to feed. \n  \nAdmission: Donation \n
